What is HomeKit Secure Video?

HomeKit Secure Video, not to be confused with HomeKit support, is a new feature offered by Apple for securely encrypting and recording your camera footage. The Circle 2 Wired camera is the first camera on the market that offers support for HomeKit Secure Video.

This feature works by securely encrypting you footage locally, through your HomeKit hub (Apple TV, HomePod, or iPad) and then sending it to the iCloud.

To use this feature you must have:
• A HomeKit camera supporting HomeKit Secure Video
• A HomeKit Hub
• An active 200 GB or 2 TB iCloud storage plan
• An iOS device
